Autopano Giga & Autopano Pro

New ideas

First misconception – photos must be level for perfect stitching – FALSE!

Just shoot your photos as you want! One row, two rows, skewed, vertical, horizontal, sloping, macros, with telephoto lens, hand-held, all situations are acceptable. Autopano imposes only one constraint in terms of your photos – the camera must rotate around its nodal point, the basic principle of panoramic photography. Autopano Pro and Autopano Giga are extremely tolerant of this rule and very often it is not necessary to use a panorama head to achieve perfect results.

However, for some specific and precise jobs (foreground and background with lots of details, virtual tours), it may be essential to use a panoramic head to avoid parallax errors.

For gigapixel shootings, we advise you to use a motorized panoramic head, that will automate the shooting.

Second misconception – You have to use manual exposure mode - FALSE!

A true pioneer in advanced color correction, Autopano Giga and Autopano Pro are the only software that can create the final panoramic photo, no matter what exposure mode is used. In fact, it is even better to use automatic mode, as each picture will be correctly exposed, thus using the camera's full potential. During the stitching process, Autopano will exploit this advantage to increase the overall panorama dynamic range and so produce tip-top quality results.

Third misconception – you can only photograph fixed scenes – FALSE!

Even if objects have moved from one photo to another, Autopano will analyze the scene and stitch the photos perfectly. It will automatically detect any differences in a group of pictures and make the best selections to ensure seamless stitching. Someone has moved between two shots? Automatically corrected! The end of a vehicle is on one picture but not on the next? Automatically corrected!
What is more, you can export layered PSDs to Adobe Photoshop so that you can easily carry out your own montage.

Fourth misconception – stitching panoramas is complex - FALSE!

Autopano has never been so easy. Just one click on the 'detect panorama' in a folder, that's all. The software systematically retrieves from the picture folder the images belonging to one or more panoramic images and automatically stitches them. You can analyze your memory card with just one click.

Fifth misconception – creating virtual tours requires advanced knowledge - FALSE!

With the new software Autopano Giga, creating interactive virtual tours has never been so easy. Autopano Giga stitches your images together and transforms them into virtual tours in Flash format. A dedicated tool, Autopano Tour, proposes a graphical interface enabling you to link the virtual tours together and to customize them, without having to go into programming code.

Autopano Giga generalizes the creation of virtual tours. Whether you are a photographer, an architect, a hotel manager, a real estate agent, a graphic designer... the creation of virtual tours is at your reach and will enable you to present your properties and places the most beautiful way.

Last misconception – panorama stitching is hardly ever used – FALSE!

Autopano is much more than a panorama stitching software. It has been tried and tested in many fields : Photography, Cinema, Architecture, Cartography, Astronomy, Research, Real Estate...
In addition, in HDR mode, you will produce results that are not possible with a camera alone. If you have two photos of a subject, one under-exposed and the other over-exposed, Autopano will combine them and use the best of each picture. It stitches pictures spatially and dynamically, and there lies the difference!
