How is Camera Sensor Scaling Calculated?

Hi

For my D200 which has a sensor size of 23.6x15.8 and a diagonal of 28.4 against 35mm which is 36x24 and a diagonal of 43.27. I get a sensor scaling of 43.27/28.4 = 1.523. Autopano has 1.525. Does it matter or have I made a wrong assumption?

In most cases, the lens focal length is not well known. Having a 1% precision for the focal length in EXIF data is very uncommon (and this value should be corrected using the distance setting resulting from focusing the lens, data which, as a rule, is unavailable...) Because the sensor size and the focal length are used together to  compute the lens FOV, the answer is: no, it don't matter...

Re: How is Camera Sensor Scaling Calculated?

Thanks GURL, I guessed it didn't.

Is it possible to edit the lens database as the Sigma 10-20 shows as a fisheye lens when it is standard?

Thanks for your help.
