[1.4.0-2007-12-18 Linux] downsized multiband

50 images
Size: 1440 x 720
FOV: 360.00 x 180.00
RMS: 4.64
Lens: Standard
Projection: Spherical
Color: LDR

100% size: 12120 x 6060 px

The photos below are the results of what I get when I render this at 1024x720 using multiband and smartblend. The interpolator doesnt make a difference. The one with the 'borders' is multiband.

Yes, our multiband is optimized for high res and not small res. It gives such lines on small resolution but I never found why yet.

Re: [1.4.0-2007-12-18 Linux] downsized multiband

You know, I was thinking that actually sometimes this could be useful. If we had an option of rendering a pano with a second layer that would contain only the outlines of each image. eg. transparent layer, red 1px wide outlines of each image. It would then be much easier looking for misalignments in the final pano, just look along the red borders. Without them there's much more searching.

Definitely not an important feature, but would be better to have it than not to have it, some day, imho :]

Not a bad idea.  I for once haven't gotten multilayer to do much yet.  The color isn't corrected on my other layers so using data from them becomes hard...

1.4.2 still has these outlines when rendering a ~20 000 x 10 000 pano scaled down to 3000 x 1500

And it has a nice idea in it too - the layer with red lines... This could also be done as a line in the alpha layer that's already being added.

Some of my panoramas, posted in the Autopano Pro flickr group.
