Perstejn Castle CZ & Trim Castle IE
Quite picturesque Perstejn (mid 13 century) castle in Czech Republic where I was over the weekend.
Images taken with my daughter's Canon Ixus 70
I'm not sure how about you, but quite often I find SLR rather heavy and bulky to drag around casually, especially on a weekend fly over. I really wish somebody would make decent sensor size, simple, good image quality, pocket camera. Something sort of like Sigma is hopelessly attempting with the PD2.
Every now and again, I'm starting to be really tempted to buy one of these small point and shoot things. Thankfully, I always borrow one first -> and then I get to love my old SLR, even with with its bulk and lens weight.
Just to make the post more interesting the next one is lovely Trim Norman (end 12 century) castle ruin. Taken with one of those "cheap" SLRs with my favorite lens.
Maybe at this post resolution the tonal range a lens issues will be invisible ... :-) To all the castle lowers around.

I don't understand what you wrote there. Do you like the DP2 or not? I have never used it myself, but if I ever was to buy myself a compact, it would be the Sigma DP2, I just love the images it produces.

I love the concept and the sensor in PD1/2, and wider lens of PD1. And yes, I love the images a lot.
What I do not like about the camera is almost everything else: slow response, focusing, battery life, screen, ... For the price it should not have basic flaws which are already solved in much cheaper cameras for quite a while.
:-) That is what I meant by "hopelessly" - good idea, but mediocre execution.
