How about Ursa Minor BT1, Ursa Minor USB and Ursa Minor BT2?
Or UM BT1, UM USB and UM BT2?
As we only need the last 2, I think 'Ursa Minor USB' and 'Ursa Minor BT2' is OK:

The BLTc has extra features: It implements all of the two contacts to the camera: shoot and focusing.
Both of these contacts are opto isolated.
There is an extra command: ":X1n" whre n can be 0,1,2 or 3.
bit 0 means shooting, bit 1 means focusing.
0: shoot off, focus off
1: shoot on, focus off
2: shoot off, focus on
3: shoot on, focus on
Why don't you just implement a new command for the focus contact (:X1n, with n in 0/1, for example), and keep the 'O' command for the shutter? This is much more intuitive, and does not require to OR/AND/XOR a value to set/reset somes bits...

My - speaking only for myself - only interest is to have things working in a simple way . . . for making me use them for my work without working ON them . . .
My idea....
If the TA adapter was available 3 weeks ago my choice was easy, no matter the extra euro's
Same for the N770.
If I knew the N800 was better and easier to install things on I would choosen this device.
No problems for now, it's working great but indeed I needed help to get things workingand thank you ALL for that !

This is realy interresting that Teleskop Austria has pushed a "concurent solution" but I think exactly as Andrew, this is not "cheap" and actually "not in line really" with the spirit of the PAPYWIZARD/MERLIN project.
I wouldn't speak of a concurent solution but more about an extra, easy, solution.
We have a choice and that's good.
If the approach of the PAPYWIZARD/MERLIN project is CHEAP
I have a working solution here (serious, I made pano's with it.....)
10 euro for the Manfrotto part and 1,43 Euro for the hook.
Have Fun !
its manfrotto part no. 196. i have it sitting on my table and i know now what to to with it.
i am actually setting up 3dstereo and 3dstereopan-rigs using stereodatamaker.
2. can we generate a constant rotating turntable-action?
3. do these device work with stereodatamaker? like the mars-3dpancam. to my knowledge synchro of two eos is not yet implemented in chdk/sdm.
4. for those new to merlin, could you show us or explain which parts are needed to make it run and how it is connected or not?
bluetooth for wireless pc-connection? or wireless controller-turntable-connection?
thanks

Claudevh (http://www.autopano.net/forum/profile.php?id=1466) can now offer an excellent and less expensive Bluetooth device than that available from Teleskop-Austria.

Re: Bluetooth Interface for Merlin ready
I'm writing the 'Ursa Minor BT2' plugin. Here are the parameters I plan to add:
Focus: flag to focus before shooting
Focus pulse: Width of the focus pulse (s)
Maintain focus: flag to maintain the focus during shooting (this may be needed for some cameras)
But wondering if the focus feature is really interesting from Papywizard... What do you think about?

imho: No
as the cam does not shoot, when it gots no focus ->> picture is missing, pano is gone ...
e.g. while the cam is not able to shoot with a "default" focus setting when it can't focus I don't see any use

In my opinion :
No ! Normally focusing is set on manual generally at hyper focal ...
If someone want focus , he will do trough tethered shooting ....
