What is KrPano?
KrPano is an optional component that enables you to personalize your virtual visits created with Autopano Tour. KrPano is not a software. It is a group of codes to be added to an XML file produced by Autopano Tour that will improve your virtual visits. KrPano was not developed by Kolor, so we do not provide support for KrPano, but we will give you the necessary information for contacting the software developer as well as information on mutual help forums.
Using KrPano
Download and decompress the KrPano Viewer. KrPano's main effects are visible when opening the krpano.html file in a browser window. To access the source codes of these main effects, you need to open the folder titled examples. All you have to do is copy and paste the contents of the XML file from our example XML file in the virtual visit, then modify the parameters. For example, to include a pending image while the virtual visit is downloading, use the introimage example.
KrPano Plug-ins
The KrPano plug-ins are effects that require an external SWF file. Each plug-in also has its own SWF file that must be copied and pasted in the virtual visit folder. In the XML file of the virtual visit, you will also need to name the plug-in and define its parameters. The applicable characteristics of the plug-ins are identified here. Each plug-in also includes a web page explaining its use.
KrPano Tools
KrPano Tools is a set of tools that you can order on-line with which you can prepare your files in groups. For example, to create a pyramid of files made up of several gigapixel panoramas, we use the kmaketiles tool. This tool cuts the panorama into thousands of small images giving you a dynamic download on the internet (our Paris 26 Gigapixels cimage is made up of 600,000 files).
License Files
To launch the demonstration versions, you need to:
- Copy the krpano.license file in the krpano folder
- Copy the krpanotools.license file in the krpanotools folder
In Autopano Tour, you will also need to go to the Save menu and indicate the two license files.
Attention: if you modify the location of these files on your hard drive, you will need to replace them in Autopano Tour. By saving KrPano to Autopano Tour, you can:
- Raise the export resolution limits of cubic panoramas (360° total) from a maximum of 1200 pixels per cube face to a maximum of 5000 pixels per cube face.
- Raise the export resolution limits of spherical panoramas (for partial panoramas) from a maximum of 7,000,000 pixels to a maximum of 200,000,000 pixels.
- Export the XML file so that you can edit and add codes that interest you.
- Have an SWF file that already contains the KrPano license so that you can avoid having to place the license in the virtual visit folder.
