ANY PLATEFORMS
Crash at the end of the detection or when opening the Panorama editor
Related symptoms:
- hang or crash on Color equalization stage during the detection
- the panorama's display in the panorama editor is ugly
- the panorama's display in the panorama editor becomes black
- there is no panorama's display in the editor (or in the Panos part after the detection)
- crash occurs upon quitting Autopano
Cause:
The issue probably comes from the compatibility of your graphic card with Autopano.
Solution:
The first thing to do is to check the graphic card driver and to update it via the manufacturer website, then to check again the Autopano’s behaviour.
Then (in case the issue still occurs), here are the tests to process:
- Open Autopano
- Open the following menu: Edit/Settings/... in General tab
- There you will find a part called GPU processing
- Click on the Test button of the main GPU option and tick the option Compatibility
- Validate (OK)
- Quit and restart Autopano
- Try to stitch and process a panorama to check the behaviour of the software
If that still doesn’t work:
- Open Autopano
- Open the following menu: Edit/Settings/... in General tab
- Unckeck the main GPU option
- Validate (OK)
- Quit and restart Autopano
- Try to stitch and process a panorama to check the behaviour of the software

Crash during the rendering: Not enough memory
This message appears during the rendering (when Autopano calculate a big panorama with a limited system specs only). But that can occur in other cases.
Solution:
- Check if the version installed of the software is the 64 bits version then install the 64 bits version if your system allows it.
- Modify the values (memory allocation and cache size) on the Memory used part of the Preferences (pixels quantity on one row, number of pictures overlapped...).
- It is important to check the Memory management page to understand better its use.
Freezing/hanging or crash when too many panoramas are created
The issue probably comes when too many panoramas are created (between 60 and 80 Panos) on the Panos part (right side part) of the main interface.
That could generate a freezing/hanging, a bad displaying or no display at all then even a crash.
Solution :
- Desactivate the GPU mode (see Crash at the end of the detection or when opening the Panorama editor).
- Decreasing the quantity of Panos created to be less than 60 Panos opened.
Cannot click on any button or menu
You open Autopano and button or menu doesn't respond to click, only the on-over state is visible.
The problem appears when using a Wacom graphics tablet.
It is a QT or Wacom bug (for information such problem hits also Bibble).
Solution:
- If you use the Wacom mouse in mouse mode => Does not work
- If you use the Wacom pen in mouse mode => Does not work
- If you use the Wacom pen in pen mode => OK
- If you use an external mouse => OK

- Uncheck the option Use system file browser (in the Theme part of the window)
- Validate (OK)
- Quit and restart Autopano
MAC
(Autopano Giga only) The external plugin doesn't install on Lightroom 4
During the installation of Autopano Giga, Lightroom 4 is not detected and the plugin can't be installed, we propose a manual solution described below:
Solution:
- Download the installation file from this link: http://ftp.autopano.net/releases/Plugin_LR4_Mac_Leopard_263_manual_install_2012-04-27.zip
- Unzip the zip file
- The fonder contains a file called AutopanoGiga.lrplugin and a README.txt file
- Copy/paste the file AutopanoGiga.lrplugin in the following path: /Users/myuser/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/
- After processing, the export option trought Autopano Giga may be available from the File menu on Lightroom (or via the contextual menu)
