Using the panorama editor to straighten a building

Setup

First, you need the pictures. You can get them in the example package provided with the software. Get them here : [sample package]

After a detection of panorama on the folder containing the picture, you'll get the following panorama.

The orientation of the panorama is the same as source pictures, that's why this panorama was stitched vertically. So our first job is to rotate the panorama.

Step 1 - Rotation

3 Buttons can be used to rotate a panorama : Rotate 180°, Rotate Left, Rotate Right. Let's use Rotate Left :

That's better, but our building doesn't look straight. So we need to change the projection type for this panorama.

Step 2 - Projection Type

For that, we use the drop-down menu in the editor showing a sphere, a plan or a cylinder. It corresponds to the spherical projection, planar projection and cylindrical projection. For a building to be straight, we need the planar projection. Let's select it.

Step 3 - Vertical must be vertical

Now we have a good projection, but verticals are still not vertical. We use the vertical line tool to draw line which should be straighten. After addition, hit return to apply this tools.

Step 4 - Horizontals

Good. Verticals are now good, but not horizontals. Why ? It comes from the planar projection. When you look a building face to face, horizontals are horizontal, but you start looking a little to the left, not directly orthogonal, horizontals start to lean. We need to indicate to Autopano where the view point of the panorama was to redress horizontals.

Use the Numerical Transform tool for that :

A small menu is display with 3 values. Each values correspond to an angle of rotation. Let's try 10° in the yaw value to change our point of vue (other values should be set to zero as they didn't affect the orthogonality). After some iteration, you can get something like that :
